CEO, Waverley EAL Consulting Inc.
Shannon MacFarlane has been the CEO of Waverley EAL Consulting Inc. since January 2007. She has more than 30 years experience in Adult Education, teaching culture and leadership classes, French and English in the classroom and the workplace, and she is a certified Language Assessor. She has developed curriculum and delivered a variety of workshops on language teaching, cultural communication and workplace learning, both locally and nationally. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education from the University of Manitoba, as well as a Level 3 TESL Certificate. Shannon is currently on leave.

Executive Director
Louise Giesbrecht, BA, CHRP joined EESE as interim Executive Director in the summer of 2016. She brings a wealth of experience in the areas of newcomer integration and cultural diversity awareness. Her professional roles in the private and public sectors have included Manager of Diverse Workforce Development, Employment Equity Officer for University of Manitoba, Executive Director of the Alliance of Manitoba Sector Council. In addition, she provided Intercultural Communication Support through her business Bridgeworks and through Manitoba Start. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba.

Head Teacher
Ann joined EESE as a head teacher in August 2010. She has extensive experience teaching EAL in Manitoba. She has primarily taught settlement EAL, but has also taught English for Specific Purposes and English for Academic Purposes. Ann has been involved with the EAL community in Manitoba for many years as an executive member of Teaching English to Adults in Manitoba (TEAM) and a participant in the Adult EAL Coordinating Committee. Ann is also involved in EAL teacher education. She has mentored many adult EAL teacher candidates and taught courses in the University of Manitoba's CTESL and CACE programs. She has an M. Ed in TESL.
Teachers and Facilitators
Allyn completed a four-year Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Sociology and Social Anthropology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and a Master of Arts Degree in Education majoring in Curriculum Development and Design from Commonwealth Open University. She has completed the CTESL program at the University of Manitoba , and has taught English in South Korea for four years.
Dina has been working in the field of EAL since 2002. She earned her Master's Degree in Linguistics, Pedagogy and Literature in Russia and received her TESL certificate from the University of Tel Aviv. She has taught English in Russia and Israel as well as in Canada. Being a language learner and an immigrant herself, Dina understands the difficulties that newcomers encounter and frustrations that they experience learning the language. She is always willing to help her students overcome language barriers so that they will enjoy the process of learning English. At EESE, Dina teaches Writing and Speaking skills, facilitates in Returning Writing and is active in developing Writing, Speaking and Listening curricula.
After teaching in private and public schools for many years, Hilda completed her TESL Certificate at the U of M in 2010. Her desire was to work with adult immigrants as a teacher of English language skills and settlement information. After teaching in a CLB-based program with St. Vital School Division and Entry Program in 2011-2012, she came to EESE where she taught Cross Cultural Skills and facilitated in Returning Writing. In her spare time (when she has it), Hilda enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, as well as singing and writing music. In September 2013, Hilda accepted the position of Head Facilitator for both the Returning Reading and Returning Writing centres.
Kellie obtained her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg. She completed the CTESL program at the University of Manitoba in December 2011. Kellie's work history includes teaching preschoolers, parent education and counselling.
The Administrative Team
Kasey is the Office Manager. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce concentrating in Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics. She enjoys coming to work every day, thanks to the wonderful staff and students at EESE.
Sheree graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in the Philippines and has over five years of work experience in Sales and Customer Service. She believes that to be successful in what you do, you should never stop making yourself better every day. Sheree is currently on maternity leave.
