Program Requirements

What are the program requirements for English at Work?

  • EESE and the host organization share in training costs. For the first year of instruction, 100% of instructor wage is covered through funding from IRCC. Should the program run for subsequent years, funding from IRCC will cover 50% of the instructor wage. The instructor will directly invoice the host organization for the remaining 50% of their wage.
  • The employer agrees to pay employees participating in English at Work classes at least one hour of wages for every two hours of instruction. The program becomes a shared investment by employer and employees.
  • The employer accommodates collection of personal data (date of birth, address, and Permanent Resident number) from participating employees who are Permanent Residents. This information is collected by EESE and entered into IRCC’s secure database.
