FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Registration takes place online. Registration starts 4 weeks before a new session begins and ends 2 weeks after courses have begun.

I AM A CITIZEN.  CAN I ATTEND CLASSES AT EESE?

Yes you can.  Citizens, work permit holders or persons with student visas are eligible to attend classes for a fee: $400 per evening class and $800 per daytime Monday to Friday class.

EESE is federally funded for Permanent Residents only, so they pay no fees for service.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO STUDY AT EESE?

EESE is fully funded for Permanent Residents.  If you are a Permanent Resident, the only cost is your time to attend classes.

If you do not have a Permanet Resident status, the fee structure is $800 for Monday to Friday morning or afternoon classes, and $400 for evening classes twice a week.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE SCHEDULE OF COURSES YOU OFFER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?

Go to "Session Schedule" in the main menu to find the schedules of the current and upcoming sessions as well our yearly course schedule and school calendar.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I GET AFTER COMPLETING THE COURSE?

Upon completion of your course, you will receive a detailed report card which provides you with comments about your accomplishments and suggestions on areas to improve.  If you attend 85% or more, you will also receive a certificate of completion.  This is a valuable document for your resume or professional portfolio.

DO I GET A BENCHMARK?

EESE doesn't not provide benchmarks.  EESE courses are skill-based, guided by CLB competencies and designed for Stage 2 learners (CLB 5 to 8).  However, EESE courses do not cover all the CLB competencies required for benchmark evaluations.  Students can request to have their benchmarks re-evaluated at WELARC after completing EESE courses.

CAN I SWITCH CLASSES?

During the first two weeks of a session, you may switch courses if seats are available.  Email your request to registration@eese.ca

DOES EESE HAVE ONGOING ENROLLMENT?

You may register for EESE courses until the third week of the session.

I WILL BE AWAY AND WON'T BE ABLE TO ATTEND SOME CLASSES.  WILL IT CAUSE A PROBLEM?

Regular and punctual attendance is expected at EESE just like in the Canadian workplace.  If you have a preplanned absence, perhaps this is not the right session for you to register.

CAN I RETAKE A COURSE?

Students who have completed less than 50% of a course, may re-register for this course.  In certain circumstances, students who have taken 50% or more of a course may request permission to retake it.

IF I WITHDRAW FROM A COURSE, MAY I REGISTER AGAIN IN THE FUTURE?

Yes.  We welcome you to register again when you are available to attend.
