LISTENING SKILLS

The ability to comprehend spoken English is vital in all aspects of life, and effective listening depends on many factors.  Our Listening Skills course trains students in the critical strategies required to hear and understand what Canadians say, linguistically, as well as what they may actually mean, culturally, in a wide variety of workplace and everyday situations. These include the ability to understand fast, relaxed Canadian speech, use non-linguistic clues, infer and predict.  Students also learn and practise the invaluable skill of note taking.
